There was a barber and his wife, and she was beautiful
A foolish barber and his wife
She was his reason and his life
And she was beautiful
And she was virtuous
And he was naive.

Character Name: Sweeney Todd
Age: Sweeney’s age varies between the different actors he has been portrayed by. Because I’m going by Johnny Depp’s depiction, Sweeney will be 44 to keep consistent with his physical appearance.
Fandom or Original? Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
PB: Johnny Depp
Transition point: Post-mortem
My character is a: Villainous wildcard. Sweeney is very unpredictable; he will appear to be completely stoic one moment until you find yourself shoved on the floor with a razor at your throat seconds later. He fully acknowledges that he is a killer, though believes his actions to be justified and his victims to completely merit their fates; not only do those with wicked intent deserve to die, but the ultimate release for the oppressed and persecuted is death.
Physical description: Eyes: Sweeney has brown eyes with equally dark circles under them, suggesting he does not sleep much and relies on adrenaline to function. They are usually narrowed in anger or constant caution and suspicion, as if he expects to be attacked at any moment.
Hair: Sweeney’s hair is black with one prematurely white streak. It is wild, unkempt and unwashed. He also has sideburns.
Face: Sweeney’s face is pale and gaunt, which refine his sharpened features. He has high cheekbones, a refined nose and thin lips. His visage is elegant in an almost ghastly manner, suggesting that before the years of physical and mental fatigue set in, he was once very handsome.
Build: Sweeney is 5'9 and weighs at about 137 lbs, making him very underweight. He has long, sinewy arms and legs, slender fingers on callous ridden hands, and a bony figure that borders on emaciation. Years of hard labor and hunger have taken a toll on him, and it shows.
Attire: Sweeney wears a white long sleeved buttoned-up shirt under a brown vest, a dark blue wrap-around tie, fingerless gloves and black hobnailed boots. A razor is always carried in a small side-holster worn on his belt, primed and ready for use. He is also sometimes seen in a black leather coat when he goes into the city, or a white one when he is servicing his customers.

Personality: Sweeney’s Enneagram Personality is Type 8: The Leader (Asserter). He is an incredibly assertive man with the need to be self-reliant, though his base fear of submitting to others places him on the unhealthy loop. He does not want nor does he believe that he needs help from others even when his situation is dire and he clearly requires assistance, and will often remain detached if one were to aid him. Expressing his thanks amounts to little more than a grunt, if even that.

At his best, Sweeney is quiet and reclusive. He values his privacy and personal space, perfectly content to sit alone in his parlor with only his thoughts to dwell upon. He does not spend very much time looking inward on his own feelings and emotions, but rather reflects upon memories. He has a great deal of pent up rage and sorrow, but no healthy way of releasing it. As such, it manifests itself in his quick temper and bouts of vivid melancholia. He will make a scene with screaming, cursing and stomping around, follow it up with severe depression, and end by collapsing, seemingly satisfied and drained. If he has any regret over the repercussions of these episodes, he does not show it.

He is not able or willing to understand others on an emotional level, as evident in his blunt, brutal comments and mannerisms. He lacks tact, though is capable of dressing up his words and putting on a charming, subservient front when he feels the need to lie. He completely disregards the feelings of those around him, even going so far as to find them bewildering and confusing despite his own shared, if not amplified, outbursts. When Sweeney attempts to open himself up and show even a bit of sympathy or care, it comes off as awkward and embarrassing on his part, and he will hastily withdraw once he realizes this.

Sweeney has an obsessive nature. When he sets a goal for himself, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to discourage him. When coupled with his bloodlust, this makes a very dangerous combination, as he has a habit of holding grudges. He has a predatory instinct and is more than capable of handling himself in a fight, if need be.

Strengths: He’s a 19th century barber, which means he would not only have proficiency in hairdressing and shaving, but also surgical/medical skills such as tooth pulling and bloodletting. In addition, he has also proved himself to be an adept mechanic.

Talents aside, Sweeney is very quick on his feet. He is inclined to scrutinize his own plans down to the last detail to insure perfection, which often leads him to second-guess himself.

Flaws: He’s very impatient, and it does not take much to anger him. Though he’s certainly not stupid, Sweeney tends to be very naive and usually a “step behind” others. He also tends to let his emotions (particularly rage) control him.

What can kill your character? Anything. Sweeney is completely human and, as such, is vulnerable to all the physical and mental ailments his race is prone to.
